FAQS
-
Semaglutide/Tirzepatide is a prescription that helps kickstart your weight loss journey. It is a weekly injection used to prompt the body to produce more insulin, which reduces blood sugar (glucose) and suppresses your appetite. It slows gastric emptying, which gives the feeling of being full earlier and removes cravings. When used in conjunction with diet and exercise, it can cause significant weight loss – and reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular disease in obese or overweight individuals through weight loss.
-

Yes, we highly recommend physical activity while on Semaglutide/Tirzepatide . If you are not active while on this medication it can cause muscle wasting, which is very difficult to regain.
Our program sets you up for success with this by giving you a complimentary consultation with Trimm Lab Health and Wellness to discuss exercise regimens tailored to you.

Most common side effects are included but not limited to: nausea, constipation, diarrhea, belching, heartburn, abdominal cramping, reflux, fatigue and headaches.
Most patients experience this for 2-3 days after each injection after the first two injections. As your dosage increases you may experience these side effects again in the same fashion.
Things to consider:
Risk of Thyroid C-Cell Tumors: Contact your primary care physician if you develop symptoms of thyroid tumors (e.g., a mass in the neck, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, persistent hoarseness). This has occurred in lab animals that were given Semaglutide/Tirzepatide.
Pancreatitis: Acute and chronic pancreatitis have been reported in clinical studies. Notify your primary care physician if you have signs and symptoms of pancreatitis (persistent severe abdominal pain, sometimes radiating to the back, with or without vomiting). If pancreatitis is suspected, discontinue Semaglutide/Tirzepatide promptly. If pancreatitis is confirmed, you will no longer be able to take the medication. This occurs in less than 1% of patients taking Semaglutide/Tirzepatide .
Diabetic retinopathy: Rapid improvement in glucose control has been associated with a temporary worsening of diabetic retinopathy (vision problems).
Hypoglycemia: Patients receiving Semaglutide/Tirzepatide in combination with insulin or a medication that increases insulin production (e.g., sulfonylurea) may have increased risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), including severe hypoglycemia. Reducing the dose of insulin or other diabetes medications may be necessary while taking Semaglutide. You will need to tell the doctor that manages your diabetes that you are taking Semaglutide/Tirzepatide .

Semaglutide is FDA approved to treat type 2 diabetes under the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus. However, only Wegovy has approvalTrusted Source for use in managing weight.
Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, which means it mimics the GLP-1 hormone and makes you feel less hungry.
When you eat, your digestive tract releases the GLP-1 hormone, prompting the body to create more insulin. It can also send fullness signals to the brain
Tirzepatide is sold under the brand name Mounjaro. It’s both a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 receptor agonist. Tirzepatide mimics Trusted Source the GLP-1 hormone and the GIP hormone. The GIP hormone can also trigger insulin creation and sensations of fullness.
This means Tirzepatide may offer an extra weight loss boost. However, it’s only approved for type 2 diabetes, so any use in weight loss is off-label.
Many patients who have more side effects that can’t be controlled on Semaglutide do better on Tirzepatide as it is known to have less side effects.
